The article is primarily a transcript or summary of a political chat session by Heather Cox Richardson without substantive essay-like reflection or detailed analysis. It lacks the thoughtful, introspective exploration of agency, creative work, or personal experiences that the reader values, as seen in their positive feedback for essays like Helen Higgins' that engage deeply with human understanding and relationships. Additionally, it does not provide clear explanations, mechanisms, or nuanced argumentation around technology or startups that align with the reader's interests. The style appears more conversational and topical, focusing on politics rather than the preferred themes of personal growth, feedback loops, or literary and institutional analysis. This matches the reader’s pattern of disliking pieces that offer repetitive or surface-level treatment of topics rather than intellectual depth and specificity.

This is an editable starter reading profile inferred from my existing subscriptions and a set of articles shared with me. Treat the examples as exploratory positive signals, not as confirmed favorite articles or evidence that I agree with their arguments.
Prioritize thoughtful essays about agency and how people build a life: learning, feedback loops, creative work, finding one's craft, relationships, friendship, conversation, and attention. Look for specific lived experience that develops into an interesting, useful idea. Make room for literary criticism, art, design, history, institutional analysis, and substantial book reviews.
Also consider AI, technology, startups, product strategy, and venture investing, reflecting my subscription mix. Favor explanations of mechanisms, concrete examples, original reporting or analysis, and arguments that acknowledge uncertainty. A piece should offer more than a headline, a trend summary, or a promotional pitch. Do not infer my political views or endorsement from the sources I follow.
Reward clear, distinctive prose and real intellectual substance. Both reflective personal writing and technically detailed analysis can fit. Length is fine when it earns its space. As an initial hypothesis, downrank repetitive advice, vague inspiration, generic hot takes, and hype unsupported by evidence. These style preferences are provisional and can be corrected with my feedback. Evaluate English and Spanish writing on substance without preferring one language.
When explaining a prediction, identify the specific connection to these themes and any mismatch. Do not give a high score solely because an author appears in my subscriptions or examples. Evaluate only the supplied article text; a title or paywall preview is not proof of the full argument.

The Erotics of Understanding · Love
Really enjoyed the nuanced argument, beautiful prose, and insightful but not contrived messaging - also appreciated the twist in Erotic. Liked how it went beyond the argument into how it’s particularly relevant in today’s world
the philosophical rabbit hole of meaning and peace · Dislike
I am biased because I tend to be drawn towards hard things and view difficulty and the pain associated as signs of growth (which I optimize for as it somewhat equates to living more) so I was kind of turned off when she said she saw difficult things as a bad sign or sign that she was on the wrong path. I enjoyed the references to philosophy though
the intimacy of being known and the fear of being seen · Like
I like the concept but didn’t love the writing style
