If you’re reading this, you’re in Reader Mode.
Reader Mode is exactly what it sounds like. Save any article, essay or story to your Sublime library, and it opens on a clean, read-ready slate. Just like the one you’re reading now.
Here’s what you can do with it.
⸫ Read without the noise. No ads, no pop-ups, no sidebars. Just you and the words.
⸫ Highlight what you want to keep close. Select any sentence and save it to your library. Something cool: if you highlight with the browser extension, you’ll see it here; and if you highlight here, you’ll see it on the original site.
Try it yourself → highlight this quote by Dieter Rams: "Limit everything to the essential but do not remove the poetry."
⸫ You can save images and media too.
Try it yourself → Scroll to the bottom of this article and save your favorite picture.
⸫ When a passage resonates with many readers, it’s marked as a popular highlight, so you can save it quickly. And at the bottom of each piece, you’ll find other readers’ public highlights.
⸫ At the end of each article, you’ll see related ideas from across Sublime, for when you fancy a rabbit hole.
⸫ All of this works on your
iPhone
too. Save a piece to your Read Later collection and read it in line when boarding your next flight or when you’re simply bored ;)

We built Reader Mode in celebration of literary life. Not just in the act of deep reading itself, but in the way that reading makes us better beings. Present, observant, curious, contemplative. Everything is like reading if we are willing to open up and see it, rather than simply look at it.
