More than 130 people across two cohorts have now joined the a16z New Media Fellowship, an 8-week cohort of world-class creators, writers, marketers, podcasters, and behind-the-scenes operators.

Over the past year, the fellows have been busy. They’ve founded and raised money for new companies like

Energy

,

Osmo

, and

Underdog

. They’ve led launches at fast-growing startups like Thatch, Ghost, and Exa, and built new media properties like

MTS

,

Substrate Magazine

, and

SOTA Wives

. Others have taken on new roles at companies like

OpenAI

and

Prime Intellect

, and a few

even

joined

our own New Media team. You can read about many more of them

here

.

Two cohorts in, we’ve learned that the best parts were the simplest: namely, good dinners and a vibrant, terminally online group chat.

So

we’re launching the New Media Fellowship Cohort #3

and doubling down on exactly that.

NMF3 will run for eight weeks, starting in January 2027. Dinners will be hosted in both San Francisco and New York – but fellows can be based anywhere, and everyone will be in the group chat.
